I got to know Jackie and MJ through a portrait session we did back in February (you can see it here on my blog). Now, months after the wedding, we still keep in touch on Social Media. I think I said it before but let me repeat, I love wedding photography for the special connection it allows me to make with my couples. My work puts me in the middle of the most intimate moments so there needs to be mutual trust and openness to create real, emotional, and timeless photographs.
It’s hard to describe a wedding other than by the moments that happened during the day. One of the most memorable moments of this wedding were the vows that Jackie and MJ exchanged. The personally written vows were sweet, honest, and deeply moving. I don’t think there was a single guest who didn’t have tears in their eyes. During dinner Jackie’s Dad had a speech that profoundly touched me. He talked with so much love and affection about the time Jackie was born and how special she has been from the very start. I think the speech moved me so much because I’m a parent and I can relate to other parents and their feelings. I really teared up listening to him.
Jackie and MJ searched carefully for vendors and made it a priority to work with people who made them feel good. They ended up with an amazing team – Justin the DJ, Paul the caterer, and Michelle the venue manager were a phenomenal and integral part of the memorable day! (I rarely mention people I work with but I’ll start doing it because there is so many of them who deserve recognition!)
